I didn't realize I still had a few pictures on my camera of our latest trip to Vancouver. I specifically wanted some pics of Dave and Jonas, seeing Dave doesn't usually pose for pictures! So, I found these today & here they are. I still think Jonas most closely resembles his daddy!

This is one of my favorites of Jonas! I gave an outfit similar to what he's wearing to Steve & Robyn's little guy, Benjamin. Since Jonas begged and begged, I bought him one, too! I think brown is one of his best colors.
Jody, I hope I get a picture of the two boys wearing their matching outfits! Posted by Picasa
Larry & I spent the May long weekend in Vancouver this year. This marks the first break in our traditional way of spending the long weekend, which has always been at the cottage at Betula Lake. Since Dave and Jody are moving to Gloucester, UK on May 31st, (for you who didn't know that), it was a no brainer where we would go. We had a great time with them, as well as with Jay and Andrea. Jonas is getting cuter all the time and just this weekend, started to "talk". I guess you would call it babbbling, but it sure is interesting to listen to! His personality is becoming more defined. He is definitely not a laid back boy! We think he will have lots of persistence! We saw some of this in action. Of course, that's not surprising - his parents are both well-endowed with it. It's a very beneficial characteristic to have, especially when you want something real bad!

Jonas in his carseat. He usually travels well.

He started this little action of trying to "eat Mommy up!" His intensity is interesting to watch, as well as experience!
We will miss our little grandson (as well as our kids, of course) immeasurably. However, Jody and Jonas are going to make a trek home in August and we also hope to go and visit them in their new home sometime this fall. Also, we purchased some web cams so we can stay in touch better and "watch" Jonas growing up. That way he'll also be able to see us and know he has grandparents out there. Posted by Picasa
Dave & Jody do a lot of barbequing up on their roof. Here Dave is doing the work while Grandpa has a chance to relax and play with Jonas.

It looks like Jonas is getting some teasing from Grandpa. He'll just have to get used to that!

A quieter moment with Grandpa. Jonas loves to reach out and touch the face of whoever is feeding him. He seems to prefer the male chin - I guess it has a more interesting texture!

He started this funny thing where he freezes with his mouth in the wide open position! It was quite hilarious & we all had a good laugh when it lasted for too long! It reminded me of a verse in Psalm 81:10 where God says "Open wide your mouth and I will fill it."

We went to the Afghan Horseman, an Afghani restaurant, to celebrate Dave's 28th birthday. It's not till June 21st, but we decided to celebrate in advance, seeing they will have moved to England by then. I take every opportunity I get to cuddle with my grandson!

Jonas loved this vantage point from Grandpa's shoulders! Especially, when Mom talked to him! Posted by Picasa
Uncle Jay having fun with his favorite nephew. He will sure miss the little guy when they move.

Jay and Andrea joined us for the party. Andrea is doing amazingly well at her new sales job. We are very proud of her.

Jody, Jonas & I took a little sidetrip to Granville Island where Jody's friend, Kristy, took some pictures of the two of them. Kristy is the gal who's taken some really neat pics of Jonas!

After taking pictures, Jody and I had lunch out on the patio at "The Cat's Meow". The "Meow" burger was tasty, the sun toasty, and the company terrific! Posted by Picasa
It turned out to be a beautiful sunshiny day so Jonas had to don his sunhat. He WAS wearing his sunglasses, too, but he decided they felt better in his mouth than on his face!

Jonas was very well-behaved at the restaurant and allowed us to eat our lunch while he entertained himself. Posted by Picasa

Sitting in the solarium with windows to the golf course, felt so airy & appealing, even though it was actually rainy outside.

Jonas got shuttled from one person to another.

He didn't seem to mind at all.

Auntie Kim hasn't had too many opportunities to interact with him so now she took her time. Posted by Picasa

Grad celebration at Newlands Golf and Country Club

To celebrate Andrea's grad and Jay's completion of university, we celebrated at the Newlands Golf and Country Club.

Of course, Jonas managed to get into almost every picture as he got passed along from one uncle, auntie, grandma or grandpa to another.

Jonas loves Starbucks!

Here's our little cutie in his new sunhat!

We discovered that at the early age of 6 months, Jonas is already a lover of Starbuck's coffee and lattes!

We're not so sure Dave approves of this new-found love, but I'm afraid there is no cure! Once you're hooked, it's all over! It's a lifetime affair. Posted by Picasa
