Jonas' 3rd birthday

Jonas' birthday falls on Halloween. Since Larry was leaving for Las Vegas on the 31st, we decided to have 2 parties. The guests for party #1 included Papa & Gigi, Mommy & Daddy, Elliot, Grandma D, Don & Jenni & Beth. Party #2 which will take place on Sunday, will include Uncle Jay & Auntie Andrea who are flying out from Vancouver this evening, along with a bunch of cousins and Great Grandma Eidse.

For reasons known only to Jonas, he had his heart set on a white rabbit cake. That was fairly easy to accomodate & the pink outline was "the icing on the cake" as his favorite color is pink!

  Happy anticipation...

... waiting for the lighting of the candles.

  The candles are lit.

  Big breath....

Oh my goodness! They're out! Let's eat cake!

Digging into the cake!

Neither Jonas nor Elliot has any problem polishing off a good-sized piece of cake!

Beth seems to be enjoying hers as well.

No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed!

Jonas received this game from Papa & Gigi. The comments on the box seemed to indicate that it had all the marks of a great game. However, when put to the test, it was a little less than a total success! It needed a lot of parental guidance & for the 2 & 3 year olds playing, it was a bit of a test of patience!

Beth is concentrating very hard on her next move.

Jonas is not quite so willing to wait!

Even Elliot gets in on the game & plays his very own version of it!

Costume Run

Jonas trying out his Halloween costume. As you can see, it's the perfect costume for the son of pacifist parents! Jody is trying to pass it off as a "peacekeeper" or medic outfit! I guess the selection was limited & this was the lesser evil of what was available! Jonas loved it!

He was quite comfortable playing in it.

Or rolling around on the floor with it.

Elliot was supposed to be a bee, but he would have no part of such foolishness! So, Jonas modelled it for us.

Celebrating Jody's birthday

Jody & Dave moved home just 4 days before Jody's 31st birthday.

Time for a haircut

Since Jonas is almost three & he's been getting called a lovely girl, Dave & Jody decided he needed a haircut. Jonas was quite thrilled with the idea at the beginning.

He wasn't quite so thrilled after he got a few hair wisps in his eyes & in his mouth.

Here's the length of his hair when it's fully extended.

Backyard campfire

We enjoyed sitting around the campfire last nite. It got pretty nippy as the temperatures dropped.

Boys & the Snail

Dave picked up this snail riding toy off the curb one day. It had a note attached saying anyone could take it for free. So he did. It's been a great addition to our burgeoning toy collection. The boys love it as you can see.

Elliot and his mitts

Jody brought out mitts for the boys. Elliot was very pleased with his mitts.

He played in them quite happily for awhile.

Then, he decided he really would rather not wear them. That's when he realized they weren't that easy to get off! Oh the frustration!

Elliot at work!

Determined to put his socks back on after he ripped them off.

It doesn't work, but, that's OK! He's still happy!

This is very serious work & requires a lot of concentration.

Don't interrupt me by taking pictures, Gigi!
