Winnipeg weekend

Usually, one summer weekend, Larry & I get away for a bit of a "golf tour". The weekend we finally had time, turned out to be cool and not really suited for golfing. So, we ended up golfing 9 holes at our very own Minnewasta Golf & Country Club, then going into Winnipeg for an evening out with friends. From there, we booked into the Hotel Fort Garry & had a great time!

After having a great sleep, we enjoyed their breakfast buffet extraordinaire, and then set off for the Forks. We ambled along the river walk. Here we are the confluence of the Red & Assiniboine Rivers.

Fall Happenings

Beth, Linda & Val made my birthday a special experience by celebrating at Gingerwood Lane, a teahouse in Winkler. Those of us with late summer & fall birthdays tend to have to be patient & wait for all the business of summer to settle a bit before we have time to celebrate!

On a whim, we went into Winnipeg last Saturday with friends to go out for Vietnamese food. This has become somewhat of a tradition.

Dining out is always fun, especially when it means trying out new dishes & foreign flavours! Posted by Picasa

One of the last rounds of summer

Val, MaryAnne and I recently spent a morning at Minnewasta. It was a cool, but beautiful day & we enjoyed the fresh autumn air, blue skies and great company!

The view from #8, the Decor hole, is always a pretty sight! I think it's one of my favorites.
It makes me feel melancholy to know the the warm days of summer have turned to the cooler days of fall. And, before we know it, the landscape will be white with snow! Then, we know it's time to head south, of course! Posted by Picasa

Beth, Linda, Val & I enjoyed a lazy, late summer afternoon on the back deck of a friend's house. Other than the cool breeze, it still felt & looked like summer!

We enjoyed scones, cheese & dill pickles, all prepared by our talented hostess, Helen!

Her flowers were still gorgeous!

Helen left for Montana three days later to be with her daughter who is expecting her second baby in a few weeks time. Posted by Picasa

Jonas' British Summer

Jonas' Daddy is an avid outdoorsman. It looks like Jonas might follow in his footsteps.

For now, he is quite content to let Daddy do the walking and he's along for the ride.

In fact, it looks like he's totally content!

Isn't it amazing how babies all look sooo innocent when they're asleep? Posted by Picasa
Since Jody hasn't gotten around to organize her pictures, she asked me to put some up on our blog. Here is our little baby pirate, looking for action!

Jonas looks so grown up in this picture. Hopefully, he won't have changed too much by the time we go to visit in mid-October!

Jonas went camping on the west coast of England with his Mommy & Daddy. He loves the water.

And apparently, he loves the sandy beaches, as well. The sand is quite tasty there! Jody says his insides received quite a thorough "scrubbing"! Posted by Picasa

Bye-bye, Jonas & Jody

I had to try this sweater on Jonas because I gave it to him & hadn't seen him wear it yet. By the time we next see him, he'll probably have outgrown it!

The time has come to say "good-bye". One last picture along with hugs & kisses. See you in October, Jonas! See you, Jod & Dave. We miss you all alot. Posted by Picasa

Saturday breaky @ Java

Beth getting acquinted with Jonas. In a few weeks, she'll be holding her own first grandchild!

Fortunately, Jonas doesn't know he won't be seeing Grandma for a couple of months. Or does he?
