And now...for something different!

 We rented a room at the Edward Hotel for nights 2 & 3, then moved over to the Albert, which was within walking distance to Dave & Jody's.
 Due to a big choir festival in Gloucester, the Albert was booked until after the weekend.
 Hotels in England are more like B&Bs than hotels. For starters, you enter by ringing the doorbell, because the one person working may be making beds, cleaning rooms, making breakfast or answering the phone. A full English breakfast which typically consists of eggs, bacon (more like our ham, but fattier), beans, toast & hot tomatoes is part of the deal.
  We had a nice big room with windows that opened wide (no screens), no phone and tiny bathrooms with electric heaters for the showers. For this picture I leaned out the open window & caught the street in the early morning light. The tip of the Gloucester cathedral is visible over the rooftops.
