Hurricane force winds in Palm Springs

Larry arrived in Palm Springs this past Sunday morning for his annual business/golf meetings with reps & dealers. While they were out golfing Mesquite a few hours later, an extremely strong system moved in with very strong winds. They were ordered off the golf course. By the time they got to the condo which is about a block away, they were unable to drive the car due to the street being blocked by fallen trees. They watched as numerous trees were uprooted by the mighty wind. These are pictures of the Sunrise East complex in the aftermath of the storm. This is taken in front of our condo. The eucalyptus tree that used to stand to the right of the garage is gone.
It is laying across the street. Larry said they stood in the garage & watched the grass under the tree roll & heave like jello. Then the huge, mature eucalyptus uprooted & came crashing to the ground. Fortunately, the wind caused it to fall away from the condo.
The complex looks like a disaster area with over 2 dozen trees down, a dozen or more on top of condos & lots of damage to shrubs & flowers.
The wind spared the palm trees, with no sign of any of them having toppled. But this orange tree was not so fortunate. According to Larry, it seems our complex took a direct hit along with Mesquite golf course. The rest of the area suffered very little damage. And fortunately, no one was hurt, at least not that we are aware of.

Not your typical Palm Springs pictures that's for sure :( That's terrible! At least nobody was hurt.
