The present collides with the past....

The kids are bundled up in their pushchair & we're on our way to the bus depot.
It's a nippy morning. Elliot sits patiently & contentedly, watching the world go by.
The city of Gloucester is obviously a very old city & I have been interested in it's history. I did a little research & came up with some fascinating tidbits. There is a reason these stone walls, arches & stone buildings look so old. Way back between AD43 to the 400sAD it was a major

Roman military outpost. It had all the facilities found in Rome, hence the Romanesque look of the arches. It was named Glevun back in those days. Then between the 400sAD through to the 1500s Saxons & medieval kings took over and it became a bustling city. During the civil war of the 1600s, Gloucester defeated the kings & thus began the evolution of what the city is today.
Sorry about digressing into history, but I've been intrigued by all the evidence I saw around me of an earlier era & have wanted to do some digging into the past. It amazes me to think our kids live in a place with such a rich history!
