Jonas & Elliot

Jonas still enjoys imaginary play better than almost anything! And building forts is the all time favorite activity. The Haines' basement always holds a fort of one kind or another - either constructed with cardboard or blankets or a combination thereof. Jonas has also learned to play quite a few games, including Sorry, The Farming Game, Uno, junior scrabble and others. He also loves doing crafts or playing lego. He is enjoying kindergarten as he is a very social being!

There are times when the boys play very well together. They are both quite competitive (which side of the family might that spring from?) and Elliot has to work hard to keep up! He has developed quite an interest in activity books in the last few months. He literally goes through maze books in record time. But now he also enjoys tracing letters, listening for the sounds they make and identifying the beginning sound of pictures. I am amazed how long they hold his attention as he is a very active kid. He loves anything to do with speed - race cars, video games and gets very intensely involved in WII! He attends nursery school one morning a week & loves it. His query every morning is "is this a nursery school day?"

This is a rare moment! Getting all three kids to sit still for a picture & do it happily - that's almost impossible! But, it can be done!

It's time to bake buns and Jody encourages the boys to help. It looks like they got quite involved! Other than decorating sour cream cookies at Christmas, I haven't done any baking with the boys. I'll have to give it a try one of these days!
