Entering the Pantheon

After we'd satisfied our appetites, we were ready for more touring. We entered the Pantheon through these massive, imposing doors. According to my calculations, they must have been at least 25 feet high and made of solid brass, perhaps??
Inside, the lower pantheon is decorated in colored marble while the coffered upper parts are of unadorned concrete.
The dome is built entirely of concrete and holds the record for being the largest unreinforced concrete dome in the world. It's strength comes from the way the concrete was applied in very small amounts, tamped down after every application to remove excess water and trapped air bubbles. The Great Eye at the dome's apex is 9 meters wide and open to the heavens. It was built possibly to symbolize the arched vault of the heavens. It is difficult to capture the feeling in this structure.
