Tour of Sabino Canyon

  Nestled in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains lies Sabino Canyon.

  We toured the area with a shuttle, although we were told it was a "tram tour". Consequently, I asked "Will we need a sweater?", thinking it might be quite a bit cooler on top. They laughed at my foolish question & once I realized this was not a tram in the true sense of the word, I could understand why they thought my question to be funny! We only went up about 500 feet in elevation!

  It was a different kind of beauty! Up the sides of the canqons were tons of cacti.

 
But at the bottom, where the creeks flowed, were cottonwoods and quite large ones at that!
